BARBIE LINE
The entrance to this popular and famous cenote is located 1 km south of Xel Ha and about 48 km south of PDC. A 4 km dirt road leads from the highway to the caverns and caves.
“Dos Ojos” means “two eyes”, and comes from the two circular-shaped cenotes that are located very close to each other. Dos Ojos, known for its multiple shallow dives, gives divers plenty of time to explore the beautifully decorated system.
In the cenote called the “first eye”, two very different cavern dives begin and end. Diving in the Dos Ojos cavern takes the diver mainly along the opening of the “second eye”, where there is a lot of daylight. It also gives divers plenty of room to swim around huge columns and stalactites. Be prepared for exciting surprises on this dive.
Remember to look towards the entrance for great backlight effects. With shallow dives, dizzying visibility and stunning decorations, Dos Ojos is a great sight on its own. We will come and enjoy the post-dive at Juanita restaurant around succulent Yucatan dishes.

BAT CAVE
The Bat Cave dive is the darker of the two dives in the Dos Ojos system. It is a series of rooms and passages through an air-filled bat cave into which little daylight enters. Here, an ascent is worthwhile to marvel at the breathtaking scenery and the bats hiding between the stalactites. Good buoyancy control is necessary, as you will virtually fly through passages filled with beautiful and fragile speleotherms.
Cave divers can plan many different dives through the largest cave system in the world (376 km in 2022) the SAC ACTUN system.
For non-divers, Dos Ojos are the perfect places to snorkel and swim close to these fantastic formations.
IMAX films chose this place to shoot parts of the film “Journey into amazing caves” released in 2001.
