KUKULKAN
Part of the CHAC-MOOL system (9 km of mapped lines), the entrance is a few hundred meters from the Chac-Mool cenote. You access to Kukulkan through a beautiful pond at one end of the cenote.
At about 30ft (10m), you will enter the halocline zone, illuminate the meeting point of salt water and fresh water and marvel at the reflections projected on the walls of the cave. The dive goes through a huge cavern that surrounds the cenote.
The light effects are amazing as the sunlight penetrates the darkness. Take a moment to gaze towards the entrance and admire the mirror effects of the bubbles caught on the ceiling and the jerky swimming of a few freshwater turtles.

The entrance to this cenote is by Little Brother cenote about 30m from the parking lot.
The first part of the dive is relatively large with lots of light entering through the opening where trunks and branches plunge into the water. This is where, on sunny days, a magnificent laser light show takes place.
In the second room, part of the ceiling has collapsed under an air dome where divers can surface allowing divers to admire two levels of beautiful stalactites.
Chac-Mool is one of the cavern that has a halocline, where salt water and fresh water meet creating fascinating visual effects. With its large rooms and its maximum depth of 40ft (12 m), Chac-Mool is perfect for a first cenote experience. It also offers long penetrations for cave divers and is home to the world’s largest underwater stalactite “El Monstro”.
